PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Every home conversion is project managed to ensure that clients get the very best service from start to finish. The role of the project manager is to schedule work, liaise with 3rd parties and - most important - keep the work on track, and to budget. We encourage customers to ask loads of questions early on, as this ensures clarity for both parties before we start work.
ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES
If you know what you want but you need a design to achieve it, we can help. At Crownhill Building Services we have worked for a number of years with professional architect who works closely with clients to create the spaces they require in their homes. Our architectural services include bespoke designs, building plans and construction documents.

Any alteration to your home needs to be both structurally safe and able to stand the test of time in order to satisfy Building Control. Our structural engineer works closely with the architect, advising and consulting on the designs in development. Where there are construction challenges to overcome, the structural engineer is the professional to provide a solution.

Planning permission is not required for every home conversion project. In some cases, alterations can be carried out within the Permitted Development for the property. Crownhill Building Services will always check that the property has full PD rights before quoting. If you do require planning permission, we have a planning specialist who can manage the process for you.
Get More InfoBUILDING CONTROL
All building work – including garage and home extensions – needs to comply with current building regulations and codes. A Building Control Inspector, appointed by the Council, is required by law to ensure that buildings are designed and built in accordance with those regulations. The inspection focus tends to be on insulation, structural integrity, drainage, electrics, and fire escape routes.
GAS ENGINEER
At Crownhill Building Services we work with a team of trusted trade professionals whose work and professionalism we can guarantee. If your home extension, or garage conversion should need a new boiler fitted, or gas appliances installed, our Gas Safe certified gas engineer will carry out the work for you.
ELECTRICIAN
We work with a subcontractor who is Part P registered and has been part of the Crownhill Building Services team since 2018. This means that we’re able to offer a range of electrical services as part of your build. These include wiring, socket installation, lighting design and the installation of fire alarms. All the work is fully guaranteed.

A home conversion will often include a small bathroom, en-suite, or kitchenette in order to create a self-contained environment. These require the services of a skilled plumber to re-divert pipes where necessary, install new pipes as required, and spot any problems that will impact the existing supply. We also do drainage including working with Anglian Water when required.
HIGH STANDARDS
Once the construction of your home conversion is complete, your new space will be finished to your specifications. At Crownhill Building Services we employ highly skilled multi-trade professionals. From bricklaying to plastering, from roofing to VELUX windows - everything is finished to the highest possible standards.
PRICE GUARANTEE
We are keen to give our customers a price up front which we can guarantee won’t change during the construction process. We do this by building in a contingency for standard alterations to the original quote, such as an extra electrical socket, for example. The price will only deviate from the original quotation if there are major alterations to the original specification.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Before a quote has been accepted, we provide clients with staged remittance terms, in writing. This is designed to offer peace of mind to clients, and it conveniently spreads out the payments. The final 10-15% of your balance is due only when you are satisfied the work is complete, and finished according to your original specifications.

Crownhill Building Services provides a no quibble one year warranty for any defective parts, or faulty workmanship. We recognise that no-one is perfect, and we always respond quickly to any warranty queries that we receive.
